May 22: The International Day for Biodiversity

The Convention on Biological Diversity is celebrating 25 years of action for biodiversity, which is fittingly the 2018 IDB theme!

Each year, on May 22, BEAN and our partners celebrate the International Day of Biodiversity (IDB). IDB is an important opportunity to recognize and appreciate the important role biodiversity has in healthy and resilient ecosystems – and how we all have a role to play in safe guarding it! Each year BEAN is pleased to provide micro-grants (up to $500) to organizations hosting biodiversity-themed events in celebration of IDB. In 2018 we received a record-breaking 80 applications for events taking place across Ontario. Selecting the 27 winning applications was an extremely challenging process; however we would like to congratulate the following organizations on their successful applications:
